About Me

I'm a public education advocate, a father to my wonderful 11-year-old daughter, and a resident of the Fort Worth, Texas metro area. My passion for education isn't just professional; it's deeply personal. Having attended nine different schools as a child, both public and private, I saw firsthand the vast disparities in opportunities. This experience ignited a lifelong mission to ensure every student has access to the kind of amazing experiences that shape a life.

With a background in Philosophy and English, I'm driven by a core question that has guided my career:

"Why can't we, as this great society that puts people on the moon, have a shining education system on a hill where every child's potential becomes reality? Why can't we figure that out?”

This question fuels my work every day as I collaborate with communities and leaders to build a stronger, more equitable future for Texas students.

My Advocacy Work

I channel my passion into concrete action through leadership roles in key educational organizations.

Texas PTA

Director-At-Large, Texas PTA

As a board member for Texas PTA, I work to broaden the organization's impact. A core focus of my work is building a robust leadership pipeline. It's not just about opening doors; it's about empowering parents to walk through them, find their voice, and become powerful advocates for their children and communities. I believe empowered parents are the cornerstone of a thriving school system.

Leadership ISD

Regional Director, Leadership ISD

In my role with Leadership ISD, my primary focus is supporting our school board trustees. These dedicated individuals are unpaid volunteers serving on the front lines of public education. I provide them with crucial data, facilitate connections, and ensure they have the resources and support network needed to govern effectively and make informed decisions for our students.

A Voice for Change

Before dedicating my career fully to education, I was drawn to communication and worked extensively in radio, TV, and as a professional voice-over artist. This background gave me an experienced and compelling voice with a wide variety of delivery styles.

Though my focus has shifted, I still use these communication skills every day to tell the story of public education, offer important perspectives, and advocate effectively in print and broadcast media. Explore my Media Mentions page for some examples. Recently I've been fortunate to be part of a movement in Fort Worth to emphasis the critical need to improve literacy outcomes for our students.
